<Geiger> <StormGuy85> how many animations will weapons
have? For instance, will they have an animation for changing from single
to three round burst etc?
<RS_Chadi> StormGuy85 we will have 2 animations for reload, one
when the clip is empty, and one where there are still some bullets left
in the clip (faster reload time)
<RS_Chadi> we will have other specific animations for each typical
gun (sniper with bipod, shotgun etc...)
<Geiger> <Mike_Beil> Will Raven Sheild feature as in-depth
stories behind each mission as Rainbow Six and Rogue Spear did?
<RS_Berlu> At this point,MG`s and shotguns don`t have any gadget
but we are still debatting of having 3.5X scope on them.
<RS_Chadi> Mike_Beil yes like the previous title you will feel the
intense storyline throughout the missions....
<Geiger> <unpronouncable> Will i be able to create my
own mission from an in game menu? And to what extent will that be? Playing
as terrorist? Playaing against other Rainbow bots?
<H0tspur> Right now, the in-game missions are scheduled to be the
same as the previous games - if you finish the primary mission, you'll
be able to play the other mission types on that same map.
<H0tspur> But mission editing will be most accessible through the
mission editing tools.
<H0tspur> And you'll ---*Never*--- be able to play as a terrorist
in a Rainbow Six game.
<H0tspur> (mods excluded - we can't control those. )
<Geiger> <Silenced-> In Raven Shield, will we be able
to control new operatives from team RAINBOW ?
<RS_Rima> silenced : no, it will be the same operatives as before...

<Geiger> <CNR_DeathRow> Since the storyline is mostly in
South America, will there be a jungle map and jungle uniforms ?
<RS_Berlu> CNR_Deathrow we will have green uniform and camo green
but no map is set in the jungle
<Geiger> <js|Orphix> In the multi-player part Raven-Shield
is there an objective (planting bombs, etc..), or is it like Rogue Spear,
where it is just take out the other team?
<RS_Berlu> js|Orphix There`s no plantings bomb in raven shield
but we have a mode where one team needs to activate the bomb and the other
one needs to prevent the bomb detonation
<RS_Berlu> js|Orphix and of course, all the other modes are supported
(deathmatch, Team deathmatch, hostage rescue...)
<Geiger> <AIM_MacLaw> What will be done against cheating?
<RS_Chadi> AIM-MacLaw The Unreal engine has a powerfull anti-cheat
system that has been in UT and has been upraded in the latest generation
engine! And guess what we are adding our own personal recipe too :)
<Geiger> <Bluez> can they list the maps or missions for
ravenshield?
<RS_Berlu> Bluez there will be 15 missions in singleplayer and 6
new maps in Multiplayer. We can`t reveal the locations as it would kill
the storyline
<Geiger> <moby323> In a previous dev chat you said that
weapon view was a "server option" Does the host chooses whether
everyone in the room has weapon view or not?
<RS_Berlu> moby323 Yes, that`s a server option that is set by the
host
<Geiger> <hahnsolo> For a beginning modder that wants
to make mods for ravenshield is there any type of game that is out with
an editor similiar so he/she can master the lvl editting needed to make
maps for ravenshield after it is released.
<RS_Rima> any game that uses the unreal technology and unrealed
would be a good start for getting familiar with the tools.
<RS_Rima> like unreal tournament for example, there is also a great
unreal community out there with tuturials and sample mods and such...
<Geiger> <Silenced-> How will the ballistic shield will
work in Raven Shield ?
<RS_Berlu> Silenced we have no ballistic shield 8-)
<Geiger> <moby323> From what I understand the machineguns
and certain sniper rifles have bipods. How effective (or ineffective)
are those weapons when fired without the bipod deployed?
<RS_Chadi> Moby323 the bipod is deployed automatically when proned,
and thus you will be more precise!
<Geiger> <Defuser> Q: Why is wall penetration regarded
as 'too random'? Could you elaborate on this please?
<RS_Rima> defuser : wall penetration could lead to too many situations
where the player can get killed without being aware of any threat.
<RS_Rima> defuser : basically, its not fun...
<Geiger> <Defuser> Q: How will insertions and extractions
be handled?
<RS_Berlu> Defuser The insertions and the extractions will work
the same way has rogue spear
<Geiger> <Defuser> Q: Wouldn't you agree that 'fun' is
a relative concept to the level of realism one would like?
<RS_Chadi> Defuser at one point Design must balance the game between
fun and realism , and after all we are making a game.
<Geiger> <StormGuy85> Will climbing play the same roll,
or greater, then it did in Rogue Spear? Being able to climb obsticles
was quite nice. If so, will it be mapper designated?
<RS_Rima> stormguy85 : yes, there will only be certain predetermined
spots that you can climb in maps, although there has not been extensive
emphasis placed on climbing
<Geiger> <Bobwod23> Will Raven Shield support a dedicated
linux server?
<RS_Berlu> Bodwod Yes we will support linux dedicated server.
<Geiger> <StormGuy85> With the sniperrifle, there is an
animation where he raises the scope to his eye before zooming, will the
weapons with mini-scopes also have an animation like this in the final
version?
<RS_Rima> stormguy85 : yes there will be
<Geiger> <FatJoe> In Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six book, The
Heart Beat system showed terrorist = Red, and hostages = White, both calculated
from heartbeat rate, and R6 troops displaied in blue, tracked by a small
sender on the Troops uniform, displaying the name too.. R6:3 has all signals
white.. Isn't that a possible drawback in the HB system?
<RS_Berlu> Fatjoe The way that the HB signal is shown to the players
depend on what`s the level of difficulty. At the rookie level you will
get the colors but not at elite 8-)
<Geiger> <FatJoe> also, can we, as Rainbow troops, add
Lasers to our weapons, like Scopes..etc? Good job so far and god speed
on the rest :)
<RS_Rima> fatjoe : you will not be able to attach lasers to your
weapons (and thanks :))
<Geiger> <SFG>: First off great job on the game so far
its what ive always looked for my main question will be. " I know
the game is focused on realism but so many close quarter combat game will
have a 5 shot kill , can you tell us how many shots it will take in Raven
Shield?"
<RS_Chadi> SFG thx for the compliment :) - a well placed shot with
a powerfull weapon can kill a person in one shot
<Geiger> <Bobwod23> Since the game can have dedicated
servers, will people play via an in game browser like cs?
<RS_Berlu> bobwod23 we definitivly have a in game browser because
we think that the fastest way to get in the game. What that CS thing are
you talking about 8-)
<Geiger> <StormGuy85> What are the 3dsm plugins allow
you to do? Create new characters, weapons, equipment, maps, and everything
you do? Or just a limited number of things?
<RS_Rima> stormguy85 : yes, you can do all your models and objects
in 3dsmax but the levels/map are built using unrealed
<Geiger> <Defuser> Q: Will injuries affect mobility? For
example, if somebody was shot in the knee it would affect their speed,
or if shot in the hand, their ability to aim?
<RS_Chadi> it will affect your movement, reticule , and the speed
you do action ... interacting with objects etc..
<Geiger> Alright I'd like to thank the gents from our Dev team
